The Agricultural Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn invites applications for a permanent position W3 Professorship “Agro-ecological Modeling” (Full Professor) to be appointed at the earliest time possible. The DFG Cluster of Excellence PhenoRob takes a technology-driven approach towards sustainable crop production. These technologies will lead to new opportunities for management on the field (e.g., new field arrangements, mixed cropping, targeted intervention). The newly established professorship should strengthen the competencies of the Cluster and contribute to the modeling and forecasting of the impacts of these new opportunities on agro-ecological systems. Special attention may be given to agro-ecological relationships to support weed, pest, and disease management.
The professorship may also consider novel agricultural systems towards efficient and sustainable crop production. The candidate must be internationally visible in the above-mentioned research topic with experience in the acquisition of relevant third-party funding. The professorship will be affiliated with the Institute of Crop Science and Resource Conservation (INRES) and will represent the above-mentioned field in research and university-level teaching.
