Position Details
The Erin Sparks laboratory at the University of Delaware (UD) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a 3-year project on plant synthetic biology. This project is a collaboration between UD, Iowa State University, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The project is directed at re-factoring and studying plant biosynthetic pathways in plant systems that usually lack expression of these pathways.

The position is located at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute (DBI), a multidisciplinary research facility with world-class researchers and core facilities. The University of Delaware is located in scenic Newark, DE, an excellent geographic location within two hours of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. Postdoctoral salaries and fringe benefits are highly competitive.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • PhD in biology, synthetic biology, plant biology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology.
  • Evidence of excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A record of scientific publication.
  • Evidence of the ability to work independently and within a research team.
