Faculty of Biology, Chair of Microbiology / Microbial Biochemistry: The LMU working group „Microbial Biochemistry” invites applications for the position of a Doctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in the Field of Microbiology (Salary Scale E13 TV-L, 65%)
My group and I are looking for a new team member, who shares our enthusiasm for the biochemical diversity of bacteria and is looking for an opportunity to pursue a PhD in microbiology (Dr. rer. nat.).
The envisioned starting date is as soon as possible but in January 2023 at the latest.
The position is limited to three years and fully funded by the German Science foundation (DFG).
Our group is located at the LMU Biocenter within a vibrant highly-collaborative environment, at the High-Tech Campus Martinsried.
Description
The selected candidate will contribute to our work on food microbiology. By using state-of-the-art technologies in microbial genetics and biochemistry we aim to understand how diet-derived non-canonical amino acids are metabolized by the Gram-negative model organism Escherichia coli. Our group is located at the LMU Biocenter within a vibrant highly-collaborative environment, at the High-Tech Campus Martinsried.
Employment conditions: You must have a university master’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or a related subject. Experience in working with bacteria is mandatory. Knowledge in molecular biological and biochemical methods is strongly recommended. Evidence of successful scientific activity through publications is desirable.
