The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a Full Professor (W3) of Crop Production Technology at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering to be filled in the summer semester 2023. The candidate (m/f/d) should represent the subject area in research and teaching. The focus of the professor’s research is in particular on the interdisciplinary development and evaluation of innovative methods and solutions for sustainable process engineering and automation, with the aim of optimizing resource efficiency and environmental protection in crop production – including speciality crops.
The applicant should have a proven scientific record in this scientific field. The successful candidate must cooperate in the University of Hohenheim’s interdisciplinary research centers and be willing to engage in intensive national and international collaboration, in particular with other professorships of agricultural engineering and crop production as well as across faculties. Participation in measures to promote early career researchers in research training groups is expected. The focus of teaching is on the specialization of agricultural engineering in the BSc degree program in agricultural sciences as well as in the specializations of agricultural engineering and plant production systems that are part of the MSc degree program in agricultural sciences.
The candidate should be able to teach both in German and in English. The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship. The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of Hohenheim reserves its right to probationary employment.
