The Oztas Lab: Our lab aims to understand these mechanisms at molecular level by performing genetics, molecular biology and genomics approaches. We are currently focusing on understanding how legumes overcome the limitation of usable nitrogen forms in soil by forming symbiotic interaction with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and how plants cope with DNA-damaging factors to maintain their genome stability.
Our research program provides basic scientific insights for environmentally friendly yet high-yield agricultural production and for fighting climate change.
I am looking for a PhD student who will study the Molecular Mechanism of Symbiotic Interaction Between Legumes and Nitrogen-Fixing Soil Bacteria. If you are interested, please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) your CV, transcripts and the proof of English proficiency. The deadline for application is 5 August 2022, For more information about our lab you can check out oztaslab.ku.edu.tr
