Just another day at the office…..passionate people wanted. We’re looking for horticulture pros ready to make a difference.

There’s never been a more appropriate time to consider a teaching career at Plumpton College. With the significance of change in the industry and ambitious plans for continued development at the college including our prestigious Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) programmes and higher level (HNC/D) equivalent courses we’re excited about the future.

Our award-winning destination garden, One Garden Brighton, provides a showcase for our students which combined with the diverse garden styles at Plumpton College cements our place as a centre of excellence for horticulture and provides a great opportunity for industry professionals looking for a career change. With continued expansion there are opportunities to be a part of our teaching team at One Garden Brighton, to deliver inspiring teaching to further education learners at Plumpton and also to work with adult learners across East Sussex in Eastbourne, Lewes & Hastings.

We are delighted to work with the Education & Training Foundation who are supporting us to attract experienced professionals with at least 3-years’ experience in industry who can bring their expert technical knowledge and skills to work in Further Education. The ‘Taking Teacher Further’ programme is a national initiative funded by the Department for Education which will support successful candidates in achieving up to a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent qualification as well as enabling the college to support you with a reduced timetable and opportunities for work shadowing and mentoring.

“Becoming a lecturer at Plumpton College offered me the chance to give something back, advise young entrants coming into the industry and allowed me to pass on my passion…..which I hope has had a real impact on the students I teach…to play a part in their journey is a unique opportunity for anyone” (Lecturer & PGCE Trainee)
