Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Agri-Business. The successful applicant for this post will be expected to lead the teaching of agri-business related modules- and participate in teaching on our Agriculture and Agriculture with Business degree schemes through the delivery of innovative and engaging teaching. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own research within the overall Department of Life Sciences (DLS) research strategy.

The Department aims to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual whose work will complement and enhance our existing teaching and research strengths. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research-led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and administration within the Department as appropriate and will have a major involvement in delivering undergraduate degree schemes in Agriculture and Agriculture with Business. Our current agri-business related modules include, amongst others The Agriculture Industry; Business, Economics and Land Use; Farm Business Management and Appraisal and Science and Technology in Agriculture.  The applicant should display a strong research record within agricultural business management or demonstrate the ability to achieve such a record. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish their own research area within one of the active research groups in DLS..

The role carries an expectation of research grant applications and REF-returnable research. The successful applicant will be supported to achieve these goals and will have opportunities to develop their teaching and research interests in a vibrant and supportive environment. Relevant professional experience will be just as valuable as academic experience.  DLS will support the successful candidate through a teaching qualification to help ensure they play a key role in the delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
