The project is part of the ProBioHuhn- “New strategies for reducing diseases on organic broiler farms with particular regard to the gut microbiome”, funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and in collaboration with the project partners of University of Kassel and German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. The overall aim is to understand the fundamental principles of microbe-host interactions and the composition and function of the intestinal microbiome of organic chickens.

Candidate profile:        

  • Completed university studies (master’s degree, diploma or a comparable university degree) in microbiology, bioinformatics or agricultural biology/science or another field relevant to the topic ·
  • Experience in molecular biology methods, 16S sequencing, metagenomics, bioinformatics and statistics ·        
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English and German (plus) 

The place of work is at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Salary will be according to the appropriate civil service level EG 13 TV-L, 0.65. Funding is available for 36 months.
