The Hu Lab: Health Data Science, Bioinformatics and Statistical Genetics at The Department of Biochemistry of the Western University, Canada: The Hu lab focuses on developing and applying computational and statistical techniques for integrative analysis of big multimodal health data (omics data, imaging data, administrative and electronic medical records) for precision medicine. Dr. Hu’s research program builds the bridges between artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning, statistics and multimodal health data (mainly omics data). His research is performed in an independent, multidisciplinary and collaborative team framework where his expertise in AI, statistical genetics and bioinformatics complements that of his collaborators.
Dr. Pingzhao Hu is a tenured Associate Professor in Western University. Dr. Hu was trained in computer science and applied statistics. His group has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles with over 6000 citations and H-index 36. Dr. Hu is Associate Editors of Frontiers in Genetics (Statistical Genetics and Methodology), Annals of Medicine (Section of Medical Genetics and Genomics), and Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal(CSBJ).
