The Boves and Bouldin Labs at Arkansas State University are seeking multiple graduate students to conduct research in the field of wetland ecology (MS in Biology or MS/PhD in Environmental Science). These students will be part of a large collaborative team (from multiple academic institutions) that will be evaluating the effectiveness of the Wetland Reserve Program using a variety of biotic (e.g., avian diversity, macroinvertebrate and macrophyte assessments) and abiotic (e.g., water chemistry, flow) metrics. In addition, there will be support (and the expectation) for students to carry out their own specific research within the broader project framework, especially involving birds.

Competitive candidates for these positions will possess a passion for fieldwork, a BS in biology, ecology, or closely related field and an undergraduate GPA >3.2. The strongest candidates will also have: substantial field experience (with birds will be a bonus), great organizational abilities and quantitative skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, an ability to work with collaborators from across the United States, and some personnel management experience. For consideration for the PhD position(s), candidates should also already have received an MS degree and evidence of the ability to produce scientific manuscripts.
