Applications are invited for a PhD position in soil erosion research at the research group Environmental Geosciences of the University of Basel with interest in soil erosion tracking with radionuclides (caesium/ plutonium) and soil erosion modelling.

Your position

At the Department of Environmental Sciences within the research group Environmental Geosciences we are looking for candidates with interest in soil erosion research to investigate soil erosion processes with radionuclide tracking (caesium and plutonium) in combination with modelling approaches. The position is funded by the Horizon Europe project Soil-O-Live within the call HORIZON-MISS-2021-SOIL-02. The PhD project will be co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Pasquale Borrelli, UniversitĂ  Roma Tre (Italy).

Your profile

Candidates should have an university degree in environmental science or in a related field with some expertise in soil science. They are interested to work in an interdisciplinary research environment, interested in field, laboratory and modelling work and have good communication skills (English).
