Ball State University is a public institution that was founded in 1918. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 13,916 (fall 2021), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 1,180 acres. The Venturelli Lab at Ball State University has funding for motivated and creative MSc and PhD students to explore the application of online and mobile data to a diversity of fisheries topics (e.g., invasive species, climate change, management, human dimensions) in collaboration with universities, agencies, and conservation organizations. Our highest priority is a PhD student to assess three sources of novel data for predicting the presence/absence and spread of aquatic invasive species.

Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be available January 2023, have a BSc (if applying for MSc) and MSc (if applying for PhD) in a relevant field, be experienced or interested in R and ArcGIS, have a healthy relationship with science writing, and work both collaboratively and independently. Courses and other training are available to (further) develop these skills.
