The Venturelli Lab at Ball State University has funding for motivated and creative MSc and PhD students to explore the application of online and mobile data to a diversity of fisheries topics (e.g., invasive species, climate change, management, human dimensions) in collaboration with universities, agencies, and conservation organizations. Our highest priority is a PhD student to assess three sources of novel data for predicting the presence/absence and spread of aquatic invasive species.
Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be available January 2023, have a BSc (if applying for MSc) and MSc (if applying for PhD) in a relevant field, be experienced or interested in R and ArcGIS, have a healthy relationship with science writing, and work both collaboratively and independently. Courses and other training are available to (further) develop these skills.
