Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This is for two years with the possibility of a renewal thereafter.
Start date would be immediately.

Responsibilities include analyzing sequence data, building a web-accessible resource, and preparing manuscripts. To be co-advised by Drs. David Hendrix (Biochemistry and Biophysics/EECS) and Kelly Vining (Horticulture). The successful candidate will analyze metabolomics data from GC-MS. Data will be collected from hop and hemp floral tissue from diverse cultivars, breeding lines, and species accessions with the goal of identifying and categorizing metabolite profiles.

RNA-seq data will be analyzed to identify specific transcripts and allelic variants correlated with metabolite profiles relevant to the flavor and aroma properties of hop and hemp. Integrative network models will be created from metabolite and expression data. In addition, the successful candidate will curate the sequence and metabolomics data from this project and available data from the literature, and create a web-accessible, user-friendly database for the research community.
