A postdoctoral position in Citrus Breeding and Genetics is available in the laboratory of Dr. Manjul Dutt at the Citrus Research and Education Center, University of Florida. The successful candidate will participate in a study aimed to understand the mechanism of HLB tolerance in the Australian Finger Lime and other wild citrus species and relatives.
A strong background in bioinformatics and a passion for working with plants is necessary for this position. The incumbent will be expected to design greenhouse experiments, collect and analyze data, present results at professional meetings, and prepare manuscripts for publication in appropriate refereed journals.
The appointment will initially be for two years but may be renewed depending on the availability of funds. Expected Salary: Commensurate with Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
A Ph.D. (foreign equivalent acceptable) in plant breeding and genetics or a related field is required. Candidates should have demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, and interpersonal relationships. Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system. Candidates must also have a commitment to IFAS core values of excellence, diversity, global involvement, and accountability
