I am looking for a PostDoc with experience in one/several methods related to chemical ecology such as gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, electrophysiology, HPLC; skills in genome data analysis are welcome, too.

You should have a PhD degree and have worked in any field of chemical ecology, and an expertise in plant-animal interactions would be especially welcome; proficiency in English, both orally and written, and prior experience with scientific publishing is also required.

The tasks of the job are to pursue and develop an own/collaborative research program in chemical ecology and to organize and maintain the chemical ecology lab in my group; some teaching may also be done but is not compulsory. The duration of the employment will be for three years with possible prolongation.

I offer a vibrant, collaborative work environment and a competitive salary; earliest starting date is 1st May 2023. Our department is located in the University Botanical Gardens and houses modern molecular and ecological labs, including greenhouses and climate chambers for plant cultivation.

The University of Zürich has a broad research coverage of organismal and molecular biology, and Switzerland offers excellent external research funding opportunities, for example through the Swiss National Science Funds.

If you are interested in the job, please send me by e-mail (florian.schiestl@systbot.uzh.ch)  a letter describing your motivation, CV including a list of publications, and e-mail addresses of two academic referees, by 1st of May 2023 (the job will remain open until filled). Please send all documents in a single file. If you have any further questions, don`t hesitate to contact me.
