The Department of Biometry & Environmental Systems Analysis seeks a PostDoc/Associate Professor („Wissenschaftliche Assistentin“, pay grade A13) for 3 years starting in September 2023, with the possibility of extension for another 3 years.
Applicants must hold a PhD (or Dr.) and should have a strong interest and skills in statistical analysis and ideally process modeling of ecological systems. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and pursue an independent research program. This is expected to contribute to the department’s research priorities:
Development and application of statistical approaches to ecological problems; improvement of ecological theory of formal process models; machine- and deep-learning approaches to prediction in environmental systems. The position includes a teaching load of 4 semester hours at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level, plus thesis supervision.
