Post-doctoral Position in Plant Systems Biology @ Cheng lab:
Overview The post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Chia-Yi Cheng (鄭佳宜) at the Department of Life Science at National Taiwan University is fully funded and will focus on Translational Agriculture. The research will build on the recent publication by Cheng et al., (2021) and will use a machine learning approach to identify genes that are predictive of and functionally essential in nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) in Arabidopsis and maize.
Responsibilities The post-doctoral researcher is responsible for conducting and managing a research grant. You will be required to write annual progress reports, manuscripts, and communicate our work at conferences and meetings. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and leading junior colleagues in the lab.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess wet and dry bench skills, as well as strong oral and writing skills. The role will involve both experimental and computational work, including the generation and analysis of sequencing datasets. While experience in genomics and bioinformatics and proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python are desirable, they are not required. Individuals with exceptional experimental skills and a strong motivation to learn bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.
