The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Alabama A&M University, located in Huntsville of northern Alabama, is offering a two-year assistantship to a MS student in the field of forest ecology. The assistantship comes with a stipend of about $25,000 per year and covers in-state tuition.

Specific researches will be focused on investigating drought and cold resistance of northeastern trees at their southern ranges in conjunction with the student’s interests. The student will be expected to work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of the research group, develop independent research questions related to the overall project goals, conduct field work, perform data analyses, and publish research findings.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications 1) A bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, forestry, or a closely related field at the time of enrollment; 2) Self-motivated and can work independently and collaboratively; 3) Proficient in writing and communication in English.
