Funded Graduate Assistantship: Development of a 3D groundwater flow sensor for US Geological Survey: We are recruiting a graduate student to work on the development of a prototype 3D groundwater flow sensor.
This sensor is being constructed to support the USGS Next Generation Water Observing System. A prototype will be built on an open source environmental logger platform developed by RRIV (River Restoration Information & Verification) and tested under laboratory and field conditions.
This 2-year funded graduate assistantship will begin August 2023. The graduate student will work at Purdue University and be mentored by Jake Hosen (Dept. of Forestry & Natural Resources) and Keith Cherkauer (Dept. of Agricultural & Biological Engineering) in collaboration with RRIV and USGS researchers.
Thesuccessful candidate will be prepared to develop and test embedded hardware and software. Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or similar programming languages is beneficial.
