One Graduate Research/Teaching Assistantship is available in population dynamics and fisheries management. The candidate will work with scientists from Virginia Tech and collaborative institutes and industries to develop a survey on alternative fisheries management strategies and stock assessment with a special focus on the spatial dynamics of Atlantic striped bass.
Duties will include communicating with collaborators and related stakeholders, conducting and analyzing a management strategy survey, conducting a management strategy evaluation for striped bass, and preparing reports, presentations, and publications for scientific audiences.
The most qualified applicant will have a strong fish ecology and quantitative background and a strong interest in fisheries population dynamics. Closing Date: As soon as a suitable candidate is found. Review begins immediately. Expected Starting Date: Fall semester of 2023 or spring semester of 2024.
