The LIMES Institute is part of the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn. The Femmunity group in the group of Prof. Joachim L Schultze at the Department of Genomics & Immunoregulation at the Life & Medical Sciences (LIMES) Institute of the University of Bonn is looking for a Ph.D. candidate in systems immunology 65 % (f/m/d) as soon as possible, initially on a fixed-term contract for 36 months.
The Femmunity (female immunity) research group at the LIMES-Institute is seeking for a bioinformatician with a wet-lab experience in the field of immunology, metabolism and systems biology, to study the effects of diet on immune and vaccine responses in people living with obesity in transitioning communities (TransInf project, funded by JPI-HDHL).
The successful candidate will be part of an international team, conducting analysis of blood RNAseq and additional relevant omics data (e.g. plasma metabolomics, proteomics) collected from human cohorts in Tanzania.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Strong background in immunology
- Computer programming skills (R)
- Experience in the analysis RNA-Seq data
- Motivation to perform laboratory work
- Very good communications and writing skills in English
- Enthusiasm to work in a thriving academic research environment
- An interest to work in an international environment
- A collaborative attitude
- Ability to work independently as well as work in a team
