Available Positions for Postdocs or PhD students at The Institute for Molecular Plant Physiology invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in Plant Proteostasis, available in the group of Prof. Marco Trujillo at the RWTH University Aachen.
ABOUT US: Research in the Trujillo lab focuses on understanding ubiquitin signalling and its roles in the regulation of immune responses and general protein homeostasis (Brillada et al. Essays in Biochem. 2022; Trenner et al.
Annual Reviews 2021; Trujillo et al. New Phytologist 2021). Previous and ongoing research in the Lab has uncovered key roles of ubiquitination in the regulation of intracellular vesicle transport (Saeed et al. Current Biology 2023), autophagy (Brillada et al. Plant Cell 2021), as well as its interplay with signalling triggered by immune receptor kinases (Yu et al. EMBO 2022).
Available Positions for Postdocs or PhD students: The Institute for Molecular Plant Physiology invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in Plant Proteostasis, available in the group of Prof. Marco Trujillo at the RWTH University Aachen.
POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidates will work on exciting projects that investigate different aspects of plant proteostasis:
Project 1. Investigate mechanisms of ubiquitination-mediated regulation of endocytosis during the immune response (three years)
Project 2: Elucidate ubiquitin signalling code and crosstalk with immune receptor-triggered signalling from a systems-based perspective (two years)
The position will be a fantastic opportunity for candidates to broaden their skillset by working in a multidisciplinary lab using state-of-the-art technologies combining protein Biochemistry and cell biology. Coupled with this exciting area of biological focus, the project will provide excellent opportunity for career development with mentoring support to reach career aspirations and with generous consumable support.
REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for an early career researcher with a passion for ubiquitin biology at PhD student or Postdoc level. Expertise in protein biochemistry or cell biology are a plus but not a requirement. Being a good team player.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Salary will be according to the German Public Sector Agreement (E13, 65% PhD student; 100% Postdoc) commensurate to qualifications and experience. Please send your application including, cover letter detailing your motivation for applying, CV, copy of M.Sc. (PhD student) or PhD (postdoc) degree, name and address of three referees in a single file to Ms. Katrin Wysgol (Katrin.Wysgol@rwth-aachen.de) .
For further information contact Marco Trujillo directly mtrujillo@bio3.rwth-aachen.de. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis. The position will be filled as soon as suitable candidates are found.
