Come to the Parc naturel régional des Pyrénées Ariégeoises! The Ariège Pyrenees Regional Natural Park was created in May 2009. It brings together 160 municipalities located in mountain and piedmont areas. It occupies 57% of the surface area of the Ariège department and brings together 40% of its population. For those who don’t know what a Park is, “it’s an inhabited territory where man is at the heart of the success of the project”. Faced with the observation that its territory is becoming fallow due to agricultural abandonment, the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Nature Park is working to reopen wasteland in order to fight against the trivialisation of paysages and the disappearance of prairies and pelouses ecosystems and their connectivity (tramesvertesetbleues ). These projects to reopen environments now include a “fire risk” dimension as part of a cross-border project called “Desbosiguem!” (“Let’s clear the ground!”). This POCTEFA project is part of a long-standing cooperation between the PNR and the CFPPA Ariège-Comminges (Centre for Vocational Training and Agricultural Promotion of Pamiers) on the one hand and the Catalan and Andorran counterparts of the Ariège Pyrenees PNR via the Pyrenean Park of the Three Nations on the other hand.

A project to reopen environments involves several stages, including a first-brush clearing and/or felling project, followed by the implementation of pastoral management to ensure that the site remains open. The Ariège Pyrenees Regional Nature Park seeks to combine the changes in vegetation and the pastoral management put in place after the work.
The trainee will have to provide pedagogical and didactic feedback based on a capitalisation work carried out in 2025, highlighting the changes in vegetation and the strengths and weaknesses of the management put in place and carried out.
