Junior Researcher Job in Bacteriology and Mycology in Belgium

We offer you an indefinite contract. You will be recruited in the salary scale A165. Capabilities
- You have a master’s degree in a specialization in the bioengineering sciences, industrial sciences: life sciences, biology, biochemistry and biotechnology or equivalent. If you are in possession of a foreign diploma, we ask you to obtain an equivalence recognition upon entry into service. You can request this from NARIC Vlaanderen.
- You have a strong interest in microbiological research.
- You are familiar with molecular techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR and qPCR.
- You have a basic knowledge of bioinformatics and statistics (R).
- You are fluent in Dutch and English.
You are part of a research team that focuses on plant pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Within research and service projects you support the entire process, from start-up to reporting. You combine plant work, molecular and microbiological analyses, test design and project follow-up.
You will work closely with junior and senior researchers, laboratory technicians and external research partners and companies. You take care of the daily follow-up of projects, guide laboratory technicians in the execution of research and ensure that experiments are carried out qualitatively and in a timely manner.
